West Coast Swing in Reno = Fun, Laughs and a Dork Teacher

West Coast Swing in Reno is So Much More Than Just Dancing

What do I mean it is more than just dancing?  Well, we are a dance family.  If you are new to The West Coast Swing Community from Sparks, Carson, and Reno areas you will discover that having this common bond, everyone just seems to come together and you start to miss people when they don't show up for a couple weeks.

Monthly West Coast Swing Club Dances

We have great WCS dance clubs that meet once a month. There is a great one in Reno called Biggest Little Swing Dance Club or as we call it BLSDC (Balistic) Here is a link to the website http://blsdc.org/ and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BiggestLittleSwingDanceClub

Carson has a really fun club called High Sierra Swing dance club  http://hssdc.org/

Don't forget about our sister club in Sacramento!

Weekly Classes

I have three weekly classes at the Ballroom of Reno School of Dance Studio.   Go to the link to see the calendar
I am proud that I started a FREE beginner class when the ballroom opened 9+ years ago.  People could not understand why, I said why not!  My intention was and still is to grow our dance community and what better way than getting everyone for free.  If you want to see what a dork I am and even though I am serious about my dancing and teaching, I just want to have fun doing it.  Check out one of my YouTube videos below at Better West Coast Swing Reno.

West Coast Swing Dancing Every Tuesday Night

We go dancing every Tuesday night at the Little Waldorf  Saloon around 7:30.  It's free, it's fun and if you are new and just want to meet some people and see what the dance looks like then it is a great opportunity to watch (and have a beer or glass of wine of course 😁 )

Dance Family

I have been in the dance world a long long time and I have to say that in my experience the West Coast Swing dance community is one of the best.  Even if dance is the center focus people do things outside of dance as well.  These people become your friends and what I like to call, your dance family.

There are family members that you don't know that well but see at family reunions or some you don't spend much time with, that's what the dance community is.  Some of them will become your best friends, your mate or even just someone you care about and share experiences with.  I have known people that meet through dance find that friend they travel with or just go have a glass of wine.

Dance for Fitness Dance For Fun

Okay, if you don't think of dance as exercise then you need to come out dancing with us for an hour.  If you are not sweating after a few fast songs then you must have been sitting down.  Just remember the more you dance the more wine calories you can drink.

Come to our free beginner West Coast Swing classes every week at the Ballroom of Reno. every Monday at 6 PM and get yourself learning what I feel is the most fun, most forgiving dance style that uses almost any type of music to dance to.

Hope to see you soon.

Cheers,
J
